Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her stage title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the internet including her independently released single Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time, wanted to have her perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna had signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she sang alongside Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles called No One as well as Pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single in February, 2019 for her debut album of the same title. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
